Press Release: Sacramento's Host Committee
"The Art Foundry Inc. was proud to host Beijing’s Olympic Landscape award winners. "We are the first in the United States to be showing this International Tour of Award Winners of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Landscape Sculpture Competition”, stated Alan Osborne, Art Foundry’s President. Exhibition was on view at Sacramento's Convention Center and the Art Foundry’s Gallery in Downtown, Sacramento at 1021 R St., from October 9 to October 27, 2007.

Opening ceremonies in China
Sacramento’s Mayor Heather Fargo was head of the Hosting Committee. Delegates from the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) attended the Opening Ceremony on October 9th, with a Private Sponsor Reception on October 12 at The Art Foundry. The Sculpture Exhibition was also part of Sacramento’s exuberant Second Saturday Art Walk on October 13.

Shray, one of Art foundry's featured artists was one of eight American artists to make the finals and one of two U.S. artists to be awarded an "Excellence Works " distinction. Shray's piece is called "Raising Tomorrow's Olympic Champions".
The Beijing Olympic Sculpture Exhibitionwas arranged in association with the 2008 Olympic Landscape Sculpture Design Competition and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games.

Olympic Sculptures Go on Tour
The Sacramento exhibition had approximately 65 models of the Award winners chosen from over 2,600 entries from 82 countries from around the world. Featured was both abstract and figurative works depicting the spirit of the Olympic Games.
BOCOG selected Alan Osborne, owner of the Art Foundry Gallery, to present this important event due to his international recognition as a sculptor specializing in public works, and the Foundry’s reputation as one of the premiere bronze foundries in Northern California.
At the close of this inaugural exhibition the art works will travel to New York City.
